Our Mission

MOV is an open door through which people, ideas and creative projects meet. It is a place of togetherness, creativity, and shared experience. Blending contemporary and folk dance, song, and storytelling, we create performances, events and workshops that welcome everyone to a collective, shared table.

At MOV, we believe in the joy of coming together, just as people do in Mediterranean and Eastern European communities where gathering, sharing food, and telling stories is a way of living. Our work is rooted in the belief that dance and song are for everyone, not just professionals, and we actively create opportunities for people of all backgrounds and experience levels to take part.

Through productions, workshops, and participatory events, we invite you to step into a space of exchange and unique encounters.

Our First Production Voices

Our debut performance, Voices, is a tribute to the power of gathering, singing, dancing, and sharing stories. It is a vibrant, participatory performance that evokes childhood memories of sitting around a table and exchanging stories. Voices explores how communal traditions of dance and song foster resilience, empowerment, and transformation. In times of division, it reminds us of the unbreakable threads of heritage, culture, and human connection.

Our work is proudly supported by Yorkshire Dance, Kala Sangam, and Arts Council England.

Exclusive sharing of work-in-progress to mark the end of our R&D phase will take place on 7th March at Yorkshire Dance. This event is invite-only.
